A bright new idea for general elections

You know this quote from Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy"?
-Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

Well, I thought about that for a while and I came up with a refined proposition:
Every 4 years we vote for the candidates. The winner then flips a coin, heads they take office and we beat the loser senseless, tails we beat them senseless and the loser takes office.
Either way we get to beat a politician senseless, and people will think twice about running for office.

What do you think?

  5. Lol I think a better idea would be whoever survives the beating becomes the president!

  6. Elect the guy who says he will end both U.S. wars, he gets us into a third.

Presidential elections aren't a way for the public's voice to be heard
